Cathy Mak has been promoted to assistant vice president of financial reporting and planning with Aston Hotels & Resorts. She now is responsible for coordinating corporate property financial reporting, operating and capital budgeting, and forecasting. Mak joined Aston in 1994 as an assistant accountant and most recently served as director of financial systems and reporting.
Karen Hughes has joined The Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau as vice president of Meet Hawaii and Travel Industry Partnerships. In her new role, Hughes has the dual responsibility of leading HVCB’s sales efforts for both meetings, conventions and incentives, and travel trade. She brings to the position more than 15 years of sales and marketing experience and previously held executive sales and marketing positions with Starwood Hotels & Resorts.
Kelly Nishimura has been promoted to staffing manager with Remedy Intelligent Staffing of Honolulu. She has been part of the Remedy team since 2011 and will handle the recruiting, interviewing, screening and placement of candidates for job opportunities throughout Oahu. Nishimura has nearly 10 years of marketing and sales experience and previously was membership director at The Pacific Club.
Jen Christensen has rejoined Graham Builders as design coordinator. She now will serve as a liaison with homeowners to facilitate and schedule meetings, and assist them with finish selections. Christensen first joined the company in 2005 as a project coordinator, and prior to rejoining Graham Builders served as an administrative assistant at Chinen & Arinaga Financial Group.
Mark Hirae has been named vice president of lending with Hawaii Pacific Federal Credit Union. He will oversee management of the loan department and portfolio risk management. Hirae brings to the position more than 30 years in the financial services industry, and joined the company in 2010 as loan manager before being promoted to assistant vice president of loans in 2012.
Reid Hinaga has been promoted from assistant vice president and Keeaumoku branch manager to vice president and Keeaumoku branch manager with Bank of Hawaii. He now is responsible for the branch’s day-to-day operations and overall sales performance and customer service. Hinaga also serves as vice president of the Honolulu Zoological Society’s board of directors, and is a board member of the Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii-Spalding Clubhouse.
