Ahahui Malama i ka Lokahi and Kailua Hawaiian Civic Club hosted 55 volunteers March 9 at Ulupo Heiau State Historic Park, located in Kawainui Marsh behind Windward YMCA. Despite heavy downpours, they worked to restore taro loi and clear alien vegetation. Here, the crew - from nearby Le Jardin Academy to as far away as Kaiser High School - gather for the closing protocol at this sacred place. To offer help at future workdays, call 263-8008.
