Happy 35th Birthday To Waimanalo Library
Waimanalo Library will mark its 35th year with a birthday party for the public from 6 to 8 tonight (Feb. 27).
Entertaining patrons and the community will be Halau Hula ‘o Kawaiho’omalu, which is based in Waimanalo, and Fun Fun the Clown, along with activities for the keiki, photo displays and refreshments.

The library opened on Feb. 25, 1978 on the campus of Waimanalo Elementary and Intermediate School, and has served the community in many ways over its history.
A landmark mural by Guy Buffet, “Waimanalo Love Song,” was added in 1980 on the front and side walls of the building, featuring the likenesses of Gabby Pahinui, the Brothers Cazimero, Eddie Kamae and the Sons of Hawaii, as well as noted library staff.
