Where and with whom did you see the movie?
I saw the movie at Koolau Theaters with my other half, Robert Feigenspan.
Overall, what did you think?
It was a really good movie with a lot of plots that kept you intrigued and guessing the entire time. I thought I had it figured out several times, only to find that in the next scene I was completely wrong.
Without giving away the ending, what was one of your favorite scenes?
My favorite scene would give away the ending, but it’s good to know that good always prevails.
On a scale of one to four stars, what would you rate this film?
I would give the movie .
Was the message/theme clear?
The message and theme of the film was defined by Mark Wahlberg’s character, who showed that anyone with a conscience will do the right thing at the end. The story of corruption in politics is always disturbing, and to see what kind of conspiracies go on behind closed doors really makes you wonder if that could happen. In the end, we all know that the truth comes out because relationships and friendships change and may turn against you.
Did it remind you of any other work in film?
This movie reminded me of another Mark Wahlberg film, The Departed with Jack Nicholson. The messages in both movies were similar, dealing with doing the right thing.
To whom would you recommend this movie?
I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys action and suspense. This movie kept me rethinking the plot the entire time. The ending completely surprised me.
Did any of the actors stand out?
Mark Wahlberg did a great job, and Russell Crowe completely threw me off and surprised me as the character he played.
Did you identify with any of the characters?
I think Mark Wahlberg’s character as a police officer would be the character I would identify with the most. Even after being fired from the police force because of what he believed was the right thing at the time, he was still a policeman at heart. Without giving away the ending of the story, as a former officer he had a conscience and did the right thing for himself.
Did the soundtrack contribute significantly to the film?
The music was well done and fit the movie and the scenes. There were scenes that, when the music played, had me on the edge of my seat anticipating what was going to occur next.
Would you buy this movie when it comes out on DVD?
Yes, I am a fan of Mark Wahlberg.
What’s your favorite movie snack?
I like the Hurricane popcorn and Red Vines, a must at every movie.
