Business Leaders On The Move In Hawaii
Dan Giovanni is now senior vice president at Hawaiian Electric Company, and in this capacity he will lead the operations area consisting of energy delivery, power supply and energy resources, and operations. He has a long and successful track record in energy delivery and power supply, which will help HECO’s mission to increase levels of clean energy resources to better serve its customers. Previously, Giovanni was vice president of energy delivery, and also served as manager of HECO’s generation department, and manager of Hawaii Electric Light Company’s Production Department on Hawaii Island.
Doreen Lawrence is now vice president of inflight services at Hawaiian Airlines. She is responsible for the delivery of onboard customer service and safety system-wide, as well as management and administration of inflight operations and training for the airline’s nearly 1,500 flight attendants. She brings to the position 22 years of domestic and international airline management experience in areas such as inflight service, catering, customer service, training and sales. Previously, since March 2006, she was director of inflight and catering for Virgin America.
Robert Duval has been selected as state chapter director of Hawaii Thespians, which is an affiliated member of the Educational Theatre Association and its student honor organization, the International Thespian Society. Two years prior to moving to Hawaii, Duval taught voice and speech at UCLA, and in 2003 he was awarded the New Teacher of the Year by the California Educational Theatre Association. He has been a theatre teacher for 14 years and is Thespian director of Troupe 7205 at Iolani School. Duval also continues to act and direct at various theatre companies around Oahu.
Louis Fung has been named to the American Institute of Architects, Honolulu chapter (AIA Honolulu) Board of Directors. The board will serve the interests of approximately 800 architects, associate members and allied design professionals on Oahu. Fung currently is the president of Fung Associates Inc.
