Be Kind To Animals On Tunnel Tour

A World War II gunnery tunnel in the Aikahi hills will play host to a benefit Saturday for the Hawaii Animal Sanctuary.

Tours on the hour and a benefit rummage sale are planned from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the site for a nominal donation, and everyone is invited.

Proceeds pay veterinary bills, and buy supplies, medicine and food for abandoned and abused animals on Oahu. Additional donations of dish soap, bleach, detergents, sponges, trash bags and canned and dry cat food also are welcome.

The tunnels are located up the hill from the Aikahi Fire Station on a steep driveway at 221 Iliana St.
