Towne Center, Santa Lighting Tree Friday

Hawaii Kai Towne Center will light up its Christmas tree Friday night, accompanied by activities, entertainment, a keiki train ride and Santa’s arrival by boat in the marina.

The annual celebration has a definite community feel to it, with events taking place in the breezeway and on the waterfront stage, as follows:

* 5 p.m. Train rides begin, along with face painting, balloon making and hula by Tunui’s Royal Polynesians (which has classes at Kahala Elementary).

* 5:45 p.m. Santa arrives and hosts the tree-lighting ceremony. (The first 200 keiki get a free Santa hat.)

6 p.m. Music by Aina Haina Elementary Choir.
