The Discover Kakaako series at Ward Centers kicks off Nov. 10 from 3 to 7 p.m., and will continue to take place on the second Saturday of every month, featuring fashion shows, a live concert, food trucks and more. Activities at Ward Centre include:
* Food and art open house with participating Ward Centers retailers and Kakaako businesses.
* An Off the Cuff wearable art exhibit by Hifi in conjunction with the Fine Art Associates.
* Art displays from Gallery at Ward Centre, Sedona, Jeff Chang Pottery & Fine Arts, Na Mea, Nohea Gallery and Martin & MacArthur. Activities at Ward Warehouse include:
* A Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum vintage fashion show at 5 p.m. at the Ward Warehouse stage featuring vintage pieces from the Alfred Shaheen HI Fashion exhibit at Bishop Museum Nov. 10 through Feb. 4.
* Fashion shows at 5:30 p.m. showing trends from Basique Threads, Cottage by the Sea, Divalicious and DOLCE.
* Food tents, trucks and samples from participating merchants.
* A music concert with Nesian NINE from 6 to 7 p.m. Discover Kakaako is part of a larger campaign of events known as Discover Our Islands that was launched to recognize and honor Hawaii’s unique culture.

Cosmetics Trend Show, Sale At Nordstrom
Nordstrom’s popular Cosmetics Trend Show takes place Nov. 10 at 8 a.m. See the season’s newest makeup, skincare and fragrance trends during a high-energy runway show, all while you sit back and enjoy breakfast treats.
Afterward, enjoy a free makeup or skincare consultation with an industry expert. Plus, receive a gift for attending the show, while supplies last. Tickets are $15 and redeemable toward your purchase of $15 or more in the cosmetics department on the day of the event. To purchase a ticket, visit or call your favorite cosmetics counter. Doors open at 7:30 a.m. Appointments to follow at 11 a.m. Reserve your space by phone or in person. Participating beauty counters also will host demonstrations, one-on-one consultations and promotions throughout the day.
In attendance are Nars national makeup artist Janice Daoud, Bobbi Brown’s education executive Faith Edwards, Chanel’s national artist Kirk Mills, Laura Mercier’s national training executive Jeffrey Tasker, Chantecaille’s international esthetician Greg Messer and many more.
The Nordstrom Half-Yearly Sale for Women and Kids also is still going on – ending Nov. 11. It’s one of the few sales Nordstrom holds each year, with savings of up to 50 percent off original prices on a great selection of styles and some items purchased just for the event.
