Drug Disposal Saturday In West
The National Take-Back Initiative comes to Kapolei police station and the Pearl Harbor Navy Exchange from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday when residents can safely and anonymously dispose of unwanted and unused prescription drugs.
The federal program will be set up at six sites on Oahu Saturday to help rid the state of potentially harmful drugs.
“We are pleased at the response of the American people once again,” stated Michele Leonhart of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, “and we thank them for participating and contributing to the battle against prescription drug abuse.”
More than 276 tons of drugs were collected nationwide in an April 28 drive. Other Oahu sites are at the state Capitol, Mililani Town Center, Windward Mall and the Schofield Barracks exchange. For more information, call 541-1930.
