National ‘Take-Back’ For Drugs Is Saturday
The National Take-Back Initiative comes to Windward Mall from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday when residents can safely and anonymously dispose of unwanted and unused prescription drugs.
The federal program will be set up at six sites on Oahu Saturday, including the mall’s center court, to help rid the state of potentially harmful drugs. “We are pleased at the response of the American people once again,” stated Michele Leonhart of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, “and we thank them for participating and contributing to the battle against prescription drug abuse.”
More than 276 tons of drugs were collected nationwide in an April 28 drive. Other Oahu sites are at the state capitol, Kapolei police station, Mililani Town Center, and the Schofield and Pearl Harbor exchanges. For more information, call 541- 1930.
