Development Plan For Drive-In
The old Kamehameha Drive-In property may be turned into a residential and commercial community called Live, Work, Play, ‘Aiea — but not so soon.
Robertson Properties Group has just submitted its Environmental Impact Statement to the city Department of Planning and Permitting and the State Office of Environmental Quality Control for review.
If accepted, building the proposed 1,500 homes in five buildings, as well as 143,000 square feet of commercial space and 80,000 square feet of office space, is expected to take about 13 years.
Live, Work, Play, ‘Aiea, which RPG describes as a “walkable urban village,” will consist of stores, restaurants and public plazas in addition to homes and offices. Officials estimate that building the urban village will create about 980 jobs and generate an estimated base economic impact of $2.4 billion.
RPG also owns, and developed, the 150,000- square-foot Pearl City Gateway community retail center.
