CTAP Signwavers Urge Slowdown By Schools
Police officers and concerned residents in the Community Traffic Awareness Partnership are taking their “slow down” campaign to the streets between now and Sept. 20 at area schools.
With students back in the classroom, CTAP wants to make sure they come and go safely from their neighborhood schools by reminding motorists to slow down.
The volunteers wave signs, and the police follow up with speed enforcement.
Some Windward campuses already have hosted traffic rallies, but residents are welcome to join sign-waving brigades at the following schools at 7:30 a.m. on the dates below:
Heeia Elementary Aug. 22, Waimanalo Elementary/Intermediate Aug. 23, Ahuimanu Aug. 24, Keolu Aug. 28, Kailua Aug. 29, Puohala Aug. 31, Kalaheo High Sept. 5, Kailua High Sept. 6, Mokapu Elementary Sept. 7, King Inter- mediate Sept. 11, Kaelepulu Elementary Sept. 12, Kapunahala Sept. 13, Enchanted Lake Sept. 14, Ben Parker Sept. 18 and Kahaluu Sept. 20.
