* American Cancer Society’s “Boots on the Beach” gala is from 6 to 11 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Kahala resort. Call 595-7544.
* Native Winds Gift Gallery & Craft Supply opens a show by Navajo artist Carlis Chee from 1 to 3 p.m. Nov. 4 at 1152 Koko Head Ave. Call 734-8018.
* Aliiolani Elementary has a craft and gift fair from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Nov. 4, featuring 200 vendors, food and drinks. Call 683-6064.

* Liliuokalani Elementary has a Holiday Faire from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 18 with food, a silent auction, crafts, games, books and fun. A $3 pre-sale ticket buys a waffle dog and drink. Call 733-4680.
* The Japanese Women’s Chorus holds its free concert and reception at 3 p.m. Nov. 18 at Waialae Baptist Church. Call 722-7578.
* KCC hosts the Tour De Cure, Keiki Ride and Family Fun Festival Nov. 19 to benefit the American Diabetes Association. Call 947-5979.
* Area neighborhood boards meet at 7 p.m. on these dates: Kuliouou-Kalani Iki, Nov. 2 at Aina Haina Library; Palolo, Nov. 8 at Palolo Elementary; Diamond Head-Kapahulu-St. Louis Heights, Nov. 9 at Ala Wai Clubhouse; Kaimuki, Nov. 15 at Liliuokalani Elementary; Waialae-Kahala, Nov. 16 at Wesley United Methodist Church; and Hawaii Kai, Nov. 28 at Hahaione Elementary. * Hanauma Bay Education Center presents free lectures at 6:30 p.m. Thursdays in the park theater. On Nov. 2 it’s “Microbial Dynamics in Kaneohe Bay,” humpback whales and the history of deepwater snapper. The Nov. 9 talk is on opihi, bacterial biofilms and aquaculture; on Nov. 16 it’s Kaneohe Stream, the Wailuku River and Kilo Nalu. Call 397-5840.
