Below are highlights of what’s happening in the East Oahu community in the next few weeks.

* BLOOD DRIVES The Hawaii Blood Bank conducts donor drives from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 5 in KCC parking lot E; 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 11 at Hawaii Kai Towne Center; and 7 to 11 a.m. Nov. 18 at Kahala Mall by Macy’s men’s section. Call 845-9966.

* GIFT MAKING Family and Community Education presents a free class in making holiday gifts at 10 a.m. Nov. 6 at Kahala Recreation Center, 4495 Pahoa Ave. Call 247-0421.

* HANAUMA TALKS Sea Grant students give free lectures at 6:30 p.m. Thursdays in the Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve theater. The Nov. 8 topic is on predicting reef inundations; Nov. 15 ranges from coral “romance"to parrotfish. Call 397-5840.

* NEIGHBORS Area neighborhood boards meeting at 7 p.m. include Diamond Head-Kapahulu-St. Louis Heights on Nov. 8 at the Ala Wai clubhouse; Palolo on Nov. 14 at Palolo Elementary School cafeteria; and Waialae-Kahala on Nov. 15 at Wesley United Methodist Church. Call 527-5749.

* WALDORFAIRE Honolulu Waldorf School marks its 46th anniversary with its Waldorfaire from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 10 at 350 Ulua St. The community children’s fair has crafts, games, pony rides, food, an obstacle course, storytelling, etc. Call 377-5471.

* HOLIDAY FAIR Liliuokalani Elementary School has a Holiday Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 10 at 3633 Waialae Ave., with a silent auction, family activities, food and crafts. Call 733-4680.

* NIU VALLEY SALE Niu Valley Middle School students hold a white elephant sale and canned food drive from 8 to 10 a.m. Nov. 10. Proceeds from the sale will buy gifts for a family at Loliana Shelter. Call 377-2440.

* FUN FAIR Royal Hawaiian Band performs at 11 a.m. Nov. 17 during Wilson Elementary School’s Family Fun Fair. Call 733-4740.

* HULA Halau Kawaihoa, based at Hahaione School, holds a fundraiser for the Merrie Monarch Festival from 5 to 10 p.m. Nov. 18 at Rumours. Call 292-2738.
